When people think of the Müllerthal region, they usually think of breathtaking rocky landscapes and geologically valuable places. Characteristic parts of the region of the Natur- & Geopark Mëllerdall, however, are also the orchards (lux. Bongerten). These are part of the cultural and natural heritage and shape the region in many ways. Since time immemorial, the high-quality fruit of the orchards has been used for a wide variety of purposes. Even today, local producers refine the orchard fruit into delicious and regionally typical products of very high quality (apple juice, noble brandies, cider and much more). For this reason, the Natur- & Geopark Mëllerdall has decided to organise the Mount vum Bongert. This takes place every year in autumn and invites you to discover and celebrate the orchard meadows of the Mëllerdall from a variety of perspectives.
Highlights and events:
Different promotions and events are organised:
- Offer of different orchard menus in participating restaurants
- Activities for children around the meadow orchard (apple juice pressing, cooking with fruit, etc.)
- Events for adults (themed walks, workshops, etc.)
- Information about the festivals of apple juice and around the products of the orchard meadows organised by associations from the region
The range of events can change every year. Information on planned events can be found on our website under Events.
The Mount vum Bongert 2023 will be from 15 September to 15 October.
