Picking and collecting fruit and nuts in orchards is strenuous and labour-intensive. Moreover, the sales prices are often not high enough to compensate for the labour involved. For this reason it is more common nowadays to remain the fruit in the orchards so that it is not used. In order to counteract this negative development, the Natur- & Geopark Mëllerdall organises a demonstration of harvesting machines. Various systems in different price categories will be presented to facilitate the work in the orchards.

The freshly revised exhibition of the Natur- & Geopark Mëllerdall on the formation of the region is open. Admission is free.

The exhibition is located in the old youth hostel in Beaufort (6, rue de l’auberge L-6315 Beaufort).

From mid-July to the end of August, a whole series of guided tours take place in the region of the Natur- & Geoaprk Mëllerdall. With this varied offer in different languages, small groups of up to 10 people can discover the highlights of the region! The tours are organised by trained guides from the regional tourism association ORT Region Mullerthal – Little Luxembourg Switzerland.

For the International day for Biological Diversity (22.5.21), the Biological Station SIAS has launched the project “Reptilen zu Lëtzebuerg“. The aim of this project is to collect data on the native reptile species of Luxembourg. Anyone can participate via the app iNaturalist. In the flyer below you can find more info about the process. And one more piece of information: neither of our snake species is venomous!
